Featured Hunts in New Zealand
With high success rates, pristine wilderness, and best-in-class guides, Broadmouth Canyon Ranch is the ultimate hunting adventure. Our commitment is to provide a fulfilling hunt, respecting the natural patterns of wildlife while ensuring a successful outcome for our clients. We offer hunts for the following species in New Zealand.
Red Stag
New Zealand is famous for its superior red deer herds. We have access to the best animals and ranches available for these magnificent trophies.
Red Stag hunts take place from the start of February through the end of July.
Arapawa Ram
Arapawa rams are one of the only black-faced big horn sheep, and are unique to New Zealand. A mature ram will have a full curl—sometimes two—and makes a handsome trophy.
Fallow Deer
Fallow deer in New Zealand are a similar hunt to mule deer, as a spot-and-stalk style hunt. They come in 3 colour phases: chocolate brown, spotted menil (red-grey skin with white spots), and pure white.
Chamois
Chamois are a very rewarding trophy, and we hunt public areas where regular record book bucks are taken. Chamois are an agile, alert mountain antelope.
Bull Tahr
New Zealand has some of the best Tahr hunting in the world.
Tahr hunts take place usually from April through August. We can hunt Tahr from February onward but they will not be in their full winter coats that they are known for.
South Pacific Goat
Pacific goats are widespread throughout New Zealand and especially common to our region in the South Island. Trophy billies can be hard to find and a hunt can be an exciting addition to a safari, by foot or by helicopter.
